Welcome to St. Isidores College

In the manner of St.Francis of Assisi, we Franciscans greet each of you,
brother and sister, with joy and love.

Saint Isidores College is part of the Irish Franciscan Province of the

                             Order of Friars Minor.

The College today is on lease to the Minister General of the Order, who
has transferred to St. Isidores what was the entire community and
activity of St. Bonaventure's College, Grottaferrata ( Rome ).

It has been agreed to retain an Irish Franciscan presence, if at all possible.

Significant structural work has been done to house the new community,
and to house the library from Grottaferrata.

The new community took up residence in early November 2008, and now
numbers twelve friars from six different countries - Italy, Ireland,
Germany, Poland, Switzerland and Madagascar.

The main work of the community is research and publication,
and the maintenance of two important research libraries

January 15, 2016.  A group of Irish and Italian people, meeting in the University Roma Tre to commemorate the centenary of the Rising in Dublin in 1916, finished their session with a visit to St.Isidores, where Micheal gave them a brief history of the house, where there were readings from writings of some participants in the Rising, and some traditional Irish music presented by Comhaltas Ceoltoiri na Roimhe.

September 2017 The community includes two elements: 1. The Institute of St.Bonaventure for Higher Studies. 2. Irish Franciscan Friars training for the priesthood.
